2012 is turning out to be a banner year for Steve Mayone. Splitting his time between Brooklyn and Boston, he’s been immersing himself in songwriting and performing. In the works are 2 new collections of songs: a collaborative acoustic album with his talented cousin Kristina Stykos, and his 5th yet-to-be-titled solo album. Steve’s also been scoring music for film and TV: his song I’ll Be Alright is appearing in the movie Dark Rising 2, and he scored the webisodes for Kay McGowan’s A Curated World. In addition to this, he has been posting videos of his originals and duets with Kristin Plater on his YouTube page, as well as playing live solo shows and as a support musician for Kate Taylor and Bow Thayer, whose new album features Steve and was recorded with Levon Helm’s engineer/producer drummer Justin Guip. Keep checking back for more news!

2 events

Two events I’m very proud to be a part of: the first was at the Bearsville Theater on May 18th performing with Kate Taylor and alongside Amy Helm, Larry Campbell, Jerry Marotta and Donald Fagan to benefit the Woodstock Day School. The second will be at Club Passim on June 4th, performing songs by Levon Helm and The Band to benefit the American Cancer Society!
